Water as pattern: the undulating repeat found in Japanese shibori, in the wave motifs of Pacific Islander tapa cloth, in the ripple borders of Persian kilims. Onda is fluid and rhythmic, a design that moves across fabric the way water moves — constantly, but never restlessly.
